Structural Tendency XI - Nyx

from by Super Fata

This long form piece is suited for both passive and active listening, perhaps drifting in and out between the two states of mind being the optimal way of listening to it. It was created and worked on during the night hours.

"Nyx (English /ˈnɪks/;[1] Ancient Greek: Νύξ, "Night";[2] Latin: Nox) is the Greek goddess (or personification) of the night. A shadowy figure, Nyx stood at or near the beginning of creation and mothered other personified deities such as Hypnos (Sleep) and Thanatos (Death), with Erebus (Darkness). Her appearances are sparse in surviving mythology, but reveal her as a figure of such exceptional power and beauty that she is feared by Zeus himself."

The track is available elsewhere as a separate release, but is included as part of the album when purchasing through Bandcamp.

Super Fata is the music project of norwegian composer and electronic musician Jan Roos.

The music is sometimes harmonic, sometimes atonal, or seamlessly moving between the two. Most of the music is deeply multi layered.

Roos´ approach to music is heavily influenced by an extension of synesthesia, where senses and sensations are intertwined; everything experienced as an aspect of something else.
